Yangon City Development Committee and the Construction Ministry are planning to bridge Yangon River with the support of the South Korean government.
The estimate cost of the construction is USD 150 million, MRTV-4 reported.
The South Korean government would fund construction of one of three proposed bridges linking Dala with Sule or Pyay road or Botahtaung street. The bridge would be named Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge.
If feasibility tests proved possible, the construction would be carried out to bridge the river which divide the Yangon downtown and Dala township within about five-minute ferry distance.
Following speculations of potential South Korean special economic zone in Dala, the real estate prices in the riverside township with poor access to drinking water are shooting up.
