Myanmar is planning to export more rubber and related products to Asian countries as it eyes new European markets, the state-run Myanma Alinn reported.
Bago and Taninthayi Regions and Mon and Kayin States are rubber growing regions in Myanmar, covering 182000 hectares with rubber plantations.
Myanmar could export 95000 tons of rubber in 2012 and set the target of 150000 tons of rubber export this year, seeking to acquire necessary technologies to boost its quality.
Myanmar is also planning to export rubber to Germany, Australia, Denmark and New Zealand.
The Southeast Asian country's rubber growers could export 9000 tons of rubber in first quarter of 2013, mostly to Singapore, China and Malaysia.
