WARTIME BOMB UNEARTHED IN INSEIN TOWNSHIP

A bomb caked in rust was
unearthed in a compound
in Sawbwargyikon ward
of Insein Township while
digging a hole for house
construction. It is assumed
to have been dropped
from a bomber during the
wartime.


The wartime bomb
which is 48 inches in length
and 36 inches in girth was
discovered at a depth of
four feet while workers
were digging down for a
foundation which would
be six feet in width and 10
feet in depth at Block No
(15) at the corner of Pyay
Road and Nawaday Road
in the ward at about 11 am
on 13 June. The unearthed
wartime bomb is five inches
in diameter at the top and
its bottom is eight inches in
diameter.


They informed Insein
police station of their
discovery and the bomb
had already been handed
over to No (906) Battlefield
Engineering battalion, it is
