NBF and ethnic armed groups agree to peace talk









MyThe Nationalities Brotherhood Federation (NDF) is planning to negotiate with ethnic armed groups that already agreed on ceasefire with the government, NBD Spokesman Zo Zam told to The Daily Eleven.  


The negotiation is aimed at seeking the general attitude among the cease-fired armed groups and ethnic parties before the government sponsors the Union Conference.


It is just a meeting between ethnic armed groups and unarmed ones and it is scheduled in September or October, the spokesman said.


The NBF includes 15 ethnic parties and the federation released the statement of denying the PR system. 


The NBF held workshops on reviewing the Constitution to protect privileges of ethnics in July and on ceasefires, peace talks and political dialogues. Based on the findings experienced from these workshops, a paper is in progress of compiling in cooperation with subject-wise experts and it will be submitted to the parliament.


The NBF includes Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (White Tiger), Chin National Party, All Mon Regions Democracy Party, Rakhine Nationalities Development Party, Phalon-Sawal Democratic Party, Kayan Nationalities Party, Inn National Development Party, Talaing (Shan Red) National Development Party, Danu National Democracy Party, Asho Chin National Party, Taaung (Palaung) National Party, Pa-O National Federation, Wa Democratic Party, Wa National Unity Party and National Races Development Party.
