The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Welfare is drafting a
foreign worker law in cooperation with government departments and
experts, said deputy minister Win Maw Tun.
She made the above comment in a recent parliamentary session.
The deputy minister also said that the ministry is also drafting
regulations on the jobsite safety and occupational health.
"They would be submitted to the parliament soon," she said in a
clarification at the parliament.
The law will cover the appointment, dismissal, suspension,
entitlements of the foreign workers working in Myanmar.
The parliament has currently passed five legislations on the labour
rights and five in hands to revoke and six to revise.
The ministry said it is also working on publishing the legislations on
the labour rights and distribute to the field workers.
