Myanmar signed a non-visa agreement with the Philippines on Myanmar president Thein Sein's visit to the fellow ASEAN nation.

The visa exception agreement was signed in Malacanang on Thursday as Myanmar sought visa exception agreements with ASEAN partners.

The president met his Filipino counterpart on his visit to the nation hostile to Myanmar's close ally China.

Filipino president Aqunio said the meeting between the two leaders was "a testimony to our desire to learn more from each other and advance cooperation in various fields," according to ANC report.

Thein Sein also expressed sympathy towards those killed by deadly typhoon and donated USD 100,000 for the survivors.

He also pledged some more aids for rehabilitation of quake-hit areas.

In a separate report by Rappler, the Philippines has determined to "shared important lessons learnt" in conditional cash transfer to Myanmar.
