PTTEP TO INVEST USD 3BLN IN MYANMAR

Thailand's largest energy company will invest more than USD 3 billion
in Myanmar in next five years, according to RFA report.


PTTEP will invest more than USD 3300 million in oil and gas
exploration in the neighbouring country.


Tevin Vongvanich, president of the company, made the comment in a
press conference at Merchants Hotel in Yangon.


PTTEP has won a contract to explore natural gas in a block along Myanmar coast.
The block is expected to produce 300 million cubic feet of natural gas
each day, according to the report.


PTTEP has been operating in seven other oil and gas blocks in Myanmar.
PTTEP said it has spent more than USD 3 million for education, health
and regional development of their operation sites as part of their
corporate social responsibility efforts.
