AUSTRALIA CONSIDERS DIRECT AIDS TO MYANMAR

Myanmar is going to receive direct aids from Australia which are currently delivered through various channels including United High Commissioner for Refugees and other NGOs.

AusAid director-general Peter Baxter is quoted by ABC News that the agency is aiming to working directly with the government of Myanmar with a recent Senate hearing on the matter.

The AusAid currently focuses on the education to allot developmental aids.

Australian foreign minister Bob Carr announced an educational aids package to Myanmar in his 2012 visit to the once isolated country.
