The Myanmar's information ministry has issued licenses to five more newspapers, according to an announcement on the state-run newspapers.
People Net Daily, Myanma Thawun Daily and Myanma Waddy Daily, Myanmar Daily and Victory Daily received licenses from registration and distribution supervisory central board to print papers.
The number of licenses granted to private dailies have been 26 as the government allow publication of private newspapers for the first time in decades.
Five new dailies which received the licenses are allowed to print as of 1 July.
The government is also printing three dailies The New Light of Myanmar, Myanma Alinn and Kyemon.
The ministry has recently announced that its English language paper The New Light of Myanmar will continue to be operated under a joint venture with Global Direct Link Co Ltd, which is believed to be a subsidiary of Japan's Kyodo News Agency.
