Thai rice businesses could see Myanmar which is trying to become one
of top rice exporters as an opportunity to invest, the Bangkok Post
reported.
The report also suggests that Myanmar's rice business attracts
interests from foreign investors as the government has allowed rice
exports.
Myanmar has more than 7 million hectares of rice field, producing
10.06 million tons of milled rice in 2011.
Myanmar rice export is expected to increase to 1.64 million tons in 2021
