Australian foreign minister Bob Carr announced his visit to Myanmar next week to meet the country's top political figures, ABC reported.
He is expected to meet president Thein Sein and parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi on his visit to the country.
The meeting will be focused on the Southeast Asian country's reforms, mutual economic ties, development aids and refugees in Rakhine State.
Australia is actively providing aids for improvement of education, health and trade sectors and the first country to lift sanctions imposed on Myanmar.
The Australian foreign minister will also visit Singapore on his two-nation trip.
Australia is also planning to double its development aids to Myanmar to Australian Dollar 100 million each year by 2015.
